
Hinatea Neher, B.S.
Hinatea is a dedicated clinical counseling intern currently pursuing her Master’s in Counseling at Arizona State University, where she also earned her Bachelor of Science in Counseling Psychology. With a strong foundation in mental health and wellness, Hinatea brings compassionate, culturally informed care to individuals on their healing journeys.

Her therapeutic approach is integrative and person-centered, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and other therapeutic approaches. She tailors each session to meet her clients’ unique needs and incorporates cultural sensitivity into every aspect of the counseling process.

Hinatea has experience supporting clients with trauma & intergenerational trauma, anxiety, depression, emotional regulation and identity & cultural expression.

Her clinical experience includes facilitating culture-based group therapy and supported clients in setting and achieving meaningful treatment goals. Hinatea also has extensive experience working with children in a variety of environments, and she is passionate about supporting youth in their growth, learning, and emotional development.

Hinatea believes that honoring each client’s cultural identity is essential to building a strong therapeutic alliance. She creates a warm, inclusive environment where clients feel seen, heard, valued, and respected. As a Pacific Islander herself, she is especially passionate about amplifying Native American and Native Hawaiian voices within mental health spaces and supporting clients navigating the complex intersections of culture and emotional wellness.

Hinatea understands the courage it can take to seek support, especially when doing so may go against cultural norms or generational expectations. She is honored to walk alongside clients as they work toward healing, self-empowerment, and personal growth.
