Sam(she/her) is a Licensed Master Social Worker and Certified Art TherapyPractitioner who brings creativity and curiosity into the therapeutic space, nurturing a safe and supportive environment for the children, adolescents, andfamilies she works alongside.
Herapproach to therapy is creative, relational, and trauma-informed, integratingplay and expressive arts with evidence-based approaches such as ACT, CBT, andDBT. Sam recognizes that behaviors and emotions often communicate unmet needs, past experiences, or attempts to cope with something that feels difficult oroverwhelming. Rather than focusing solely on changing a behavior, she workscollaboratively with clients and families to better understand what isunderneath it and develop strategies that support safety, connection, andregulation.
Samincorporates art and play into therapy as ways to build connection, exploreemotions, and express experiences that may be difficult to put into words. Shetakes an integrative approach and adapts therapy to each client’s developmentallevel, communication style, interests, strengths, and individual needs. Forsome clients, therapy may involve talking – for others, it may look likecreating, playing, moving, or experimenting with different ways of making senseof their experiences.
Samis passionate about understanding each client beyond a diagnosis or presentingbehavior. Her areas of focus include: ADHD, autism, LGBTQIA+, anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, emotional regulation, behavioral challenges, social skills, identity development, and helping young people navigatedifficult or overwhelming experiences.
