Beginning your healing journey can feel daunting. With this in mind, Kenzie is committed to providing a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your experiences, challenges, values, and aspirations. She recognizes that no two people are alike and tailors her therapeutic approach to meet each client’s unique needs.
Kenzie holds a Master’s degree in Counseling and has experience working in a variety of mental health care settings, including long-term and inpatient care facilities and community mental health. These experiences have given her a well-rounded understanding of the complex challenges individuals, couples, and families may face, including depression, relationship concerns, grief, anxiety, and trauma.
As a Certified Trauma Professional, Kenzie understands that the effects of difficult and distressing life experiences can manifest in many ways, often impacting how we relate to ourselves and others. She is passionate about helping clients navigate these experiences, build resilience, and reclaim a sense of empowerment and control in their lives. Kenzie is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an approach used in trauma-informed care to help clients process distressing experiences and work toward healing.
Kenzie believes that we each carry inner strengths and resources that can support our healing. She takes a strengths-based approach, honoring the resilience her clients have already demonstrated while helping them recognize and build upon their existing capabilities.
Kenzie integrates a variety of therapeutic theories and approaches to address client concerns from a holistic perspective. She incorporates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients develop practical coping skills, navigate daily stressors, strengthen relationships, and distinguish between what they can change and what they may need to accept. She also draws from trauma-informed approaches, including Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Polyvagal Theory, to help clients better understand the connections between their experiences, thoughts, emotions, and nervous system responses. These approaches can foster greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and understanding.
Additionally, Kenzie incorporates Existential Theory to help clients explore meaning, purpose, and the values that guide their lives. Through this work, she supports clients in uncovering their inner strengths, navigating challenges, and making meaningful choices that align with their authentic selves, fostering a greater sense of connection, fulfillment, and hope.
Clients working with Kenzie can expect a collaborative and compassionate therapeutic experience centered on their individual needs and goals. Kenzie practices at the Gilbert location and looks forward to walking alongside you on your journey of self-discovery, growth, and healing.
